When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade!
That is exactly what we did when the owners of Woodward Place decided to change the name to Royal City Centre. The original “W” was everywhere, not only was it an integral component of the logo, it was built into the iron work throughout the mall. So, we turned it into a crown.
Then there was the very compromised budget and the low number of retail shops. So strategically it made sense to focus on it as a service oriented centre while integrating shops into the creative. Did we mention the budget? Well, that was a challenge too. There was no budget available for beautiful photos so we went with illustration. In fact, we only had enough to pay for one illustration.
So, we created Stan. He was that helpful guy who knew just about everything and was there to help in any way he could. He gave advice and tips on everything from storing herbs, to getting melted wax out of votive holders.
Amazing guy. We miss him.
Team consisted of Judy Kenzie, Richard Klingle, Valerie Turnbull and Paul Townson with illustration by Jeff Deweerd.
